Parent Information

No-one knows a child better than their family and so although Speech4Schools work is based in the school setting, parents and carers are still very much involved. Your child would only be seen with your signed consent, and we would ask you for some information on your child too. Parents and carers have an opportunity to share their concerns with us to help us get the whole picture.  We are always happy to chat on the phone or to have a meeting in school if that is more appropriate.

Sometimes children present differently at home to in school and it is important for us to understand this.

Once your child has been seen for an assessment, a report will be written with clear results, next steps and targets.  You will always be given a copy of this report by school staff and have an opportunity to discuss it with us if you would find this helpful.

If you would like to talk to our team about private speech and language therapy, please visit our Speech4Kids website.

We have two clinics, one in Chilham and one in Tenterden. All assessments and therapy sessions take place in a non-clinical environment, and the sessions are tailor made to suit your child's specific needs.

We can provide sessions 5 days a week at a time suitable for you. Our team of therapists all have specialist areas of expertise, so we will direct you to the most suitable therapist for your child.

Get in touch if you would like to ask any questions or speak with your school.
